The Bear

from Five Hundred Seeds by Awahnichi

lyrics

Woke up from my sleep
The flowers in bloom
Walked east to the creek
I'll be home soon
Stopped in the meadow
To visit the deer
But the meadow was concrete
And the deer wasn't there

Alone I am, alone I feel
Alone in this meadow
In the air standing still

And as I looked around at all of the trees
I noticed the bee hives were missing their bees
I noticed the sounds of leaves falling was gone
What is wrong, I'm standing alone
And I can not hear the falling leaves song

With my heart beating quick
I heard coyote's howl
So I ran for the oak tree
To talk to the owl
But the oak tree was missing
Owls nowhere to be seen
I guess I'll go ask the salmon
That swim up the stream

Alone I am, alone I feel
Alone by this oak tree
In the air standing still

And when I got there the rivered run dry
I noticed the skyline was missing the sky
I noticed the sounds of frogs croaking was gone
What is wrong, I'm standing alone
And I can not hear the waterfalls song

And this can't be right
This has to be wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong
And I can't go on
So I sat on a stump, on a stump, on a stump
And there I just sat
Till the sun went down and the sky turned to black
And there I just sat
Till the sun came up again, nothings changed
Surrounded by feathers
And pieces of eggs
I shouldn't have slept for so long
Maybe I could have done something for some of my friends
But where have they gone
They've gone somewhere else
They had to save themselves
Who took them from me
Who took my home
And why am I, why am I, why am I all alone

Alone, alone, alone, alone
Alone, alone, alone, alone

And I don't think I can go on this way
I don't think this is the place I should stay
I dont think I'll hear my cubs sing their song
What is wrong
I'm walking alone
And I don't think, that I'm, that I'm
That I'm coming home
